My EA II BTR Box isn't really kicking down properly.. it isn't too bad in power mode, but in economy it can't decided what to do when you put the boot in.
On auto's like the old traumatic, you had a kickdown cable.. but the BTR doesn't have one.. is it adjustable? I've tightened the bands to spec and other than the kickdown it's smooth and quiet. Any tips anyone? rgds Frank |

if its 4 speed auto the tps on the throttle body will help decide when to kick down..and change gear.
but there not adjustable. when was the last time your auto was serviced?? |

Don't know the last service.. but I did change the filter and tranny fluid 2 weeks ago when I put the ED engine in..
perhaps the fluid level has dropped, I'd better check, that might explain at least part of the problem. Think I prefer the old manual kickdown to be honest. As for the TPS, I was having idling troubles after the engine swap, so I took that TPS off, and put the known working one from the EA (identical) on it instead after a nice clean... the car idles perfectly but the kick down is still wack. rgds Frank |
