what do all you guys run to avoide getting diff noices and worst of all free play while crusing or slowing down(clunk clunk clunk) giving me the s**t!!!!
is it the pinion shaft and crown wheel rubbing sway causing free play or the pinion bearin of shim weraing away causing the problem????
is the solution to the problem a 9" LSD LOL

cheers,
jason

Short answer: yes
Extended version: try a btr lsd first, preferably reco'd. then if thats no good get a 9" but again reco it. there's no point having a diff with huge capacity if its buggered too

the clunking sounds the free play in the diff.
i think pinion clunking between each side of crowwheel caused from wearing i think

lol dude im not saying dont have fun...im 21 and still do as many skids as i did when i was 17..... just dont hold a doughey for 2 long because the diff oil will rush 2 1 side could cause bearing issues. but with skids ford diff's do f**k up ive done about 4 diffs in the last 2 years.
