Hi All,
Im just about to get new springs and shocks in my EL falcon i6. Im leaning towards boge shocks and lovell springs. Im going to have the standard height as its my daily but get the rear lowered by 1inch so it looks level. Any feedback would be great Thanks in advance

WHY????
If you want standard, keep in mind it will probably raise the car over what it is now, as the originals would have sagged over the years. Seems like a waste of time and money, as it will gain nothing, and the standard springs that Ford spend millions on reserch and development on would be better than the $150 springs you are going to buy. Koni shocks, and King Springs seem to be the way to go if you have to spend money, but to get any gain you would have to lower the car. |

Great feedback
King springs are cheap which is why everyone uses them. But i am asking about Kmac springs and shocks.

Have you tried any other spings to compare? Also what kind of ride did it give you?

I have used your prefered brands,
however, The car was lowered. Handling was good. But there isn't anything wrong with going some lows in a daily, my daily EBII is 80mm off the ground, and i drive it everyday without hassles, except the odd look from the PO-PO. Andrew.

So you think boge shocks and lovell spings are the way to go??? I think standard would better suit me as sometimes i have noticed my front would scrape when going into a driveway. So i would rather aviod it and if i go a little fast over the speed humb.

if you want to rip your exhaust ripped off by the first bump in the road. When my old car was lowered 50mm the exhaust was damaged badly. IMHO it looks good but not practical for general use. If you have a hot car that doesnt get driven much then fine. The legal height is 100mmm minimum.

I have used Lovell Springs in the past and found them to be excellent in ride and quality. This time around I am using Whiteline control springs which similar to the XR height or lows. From the feedback on the forums it seems the whiteline control springs are slightly lower than the king lows but not as low as superlow height.
Shocks - Bilstein would be the choice if you have the budget. Koni next, but if on a budget have you considered KYB's? KYB's also have an adjustable range called the AGX. 3 levels of adjustment (e.g comfort, sport and race) which can be done whilst the shock is installed with a turn of a knob. A good spring and shock combo shouldn't cost you more than $1,000.00 Regarding KMAC springs, I have a mate that has their setup in an AU and he is very happy with it. He mainly went with them cos they could customise the ride height. If you are keen on their products why not pop down to their store in Rockdale and checkout what they have to offer. My next setup will be KYB AGX shocks with Whiteline springs (soon to be installed) + whiteline swaybars front and rear with nolathane camber kit. Will give you some feedback when it is done. |
