Should be same across all states - check your state's Motor Vehicle Act and associated regulations.
The 100mm @ lowest point is a piece of piss to clear. There's gotta be something pretty f**k up about your car or its springs if you're failing that. Look at the "not to lower more than 1/3" rule - that's where i got f**k on superlows and i reckon thats where most people should be worried - not the 100mm min rule. I have the measurements for our cars tucked away somewhere, will have a squiz....

my cars on ultralows, 70mm drop from standard, and sports ryder shortened shocks.
and they measured from the cat convertor.....is this still a bad thing??

wow then most new small cars would be unroadworthy, have you seen a barina with 3 big blokes in it, let alone 5... the wheel would fall off. on topic, what are the police supposed to use to measure the height of a car because im sure a coke can or similer is not an accurate mesuring divice. would not the divice used for mesuring the car have to be an acuratly calibrated divice?? because they are making money from the fine that they give you would not the measuring divice that gives the reading the fine is based off, need to be calibrated and tested for acuracy by standards australia. |

Last time I was at a defect station ... the car was driven over a set of "rollers" at the prescribed 100mm height .... if any of the rollers touched any component under the vehicle ... instant defect.

In Victoria, when i got pulled last time for a check, they had a small wheel on a stick whick they rolled under the car... but at a defect station i recently got pulled through, they had a block of concrete dynabolted to the road that was 100mm high, and you had to drive over it, and it f**k up anything that it hit... i admitted to the cop i was too low, got the defect, and didn't have to drive over it...

For an EF in SA it is 350mm front measured from the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch, and 340mm on the rear measured the same.
