Hi i have an 1992 EB2 4L and im turning it into a burnout car, So.. i was just wondering whats the easiest place or way to block the brake fluid flowing through the lines to the rear brakes? Have already disconnected the ABS so it won't come up as a fault

just crimp the lines, it don't take long to do

either crimp the lines, can't be reversed.
Or get yourself some like lockers, circuit open = rear brakes work circuit closed = rear brakes don't work.

I know someone who has done this....
DONT crimp the brake lines, even with a removable clamp over each sides rubber hose brake fluid still gets through and will eventually lock your rear brakes because there is not enough pressure to send it back to the res/lines. An easy way is to go to someone like Enzed and get a basic manual open/shut valve at the same inlet/outlet diameter as your lines at the master cylinder. Pay them to cut the line, install a screw fitting (matching the valve) and flare the ends. Screw valve into place! Works a treat, but I have been told its a bit different driving with only front brakes so be careful! Good Luck. |

i was thinking about removing the male and female threads somewhere along the line and plugging/capping both sides so they dont leak. Seem plausible?

There's specific line locker kits.
Do it properly.

Use the linelocker, that what i use on my eb burnout car.Nice and easy to use flick it on when you want it you need to have the brakes for go-to -whoa events anyway its just one less thing to think about when your doing a skid also put a seperate switch for your thermo fans so you can turn them on at the start of your burnout.good luck with it

from a guy i no who runs a torana as a burnout car, he tried line lockers and it said something about you can only use them for 2 hours constant use as the pressure made the valve fail. so he made his own manual set using a 1/2" leaver ball valve with some 1/2" male iron x 3/16th or 5/8th reducing compression fittings cut out a section before it went to the caliper and brake line (rubber) and flared the ends. but them in and there is no way they will ever let fluid past

Cheers I think there just over a $100 get the b@m brand outlaw speed shop should have them if not try evil bay. They say dont have them on longer than 30secs but every body i know with burnout cars have never had a problem. If your doing a burnout longer than 2-3 minutes something else will give up before the locker. |

EFsapphire wrote: i was just wondering whats the easiest place or way to block the brake fluid flowing through the lines to the rear brakes? Stop pressing the brake pedal! Sorry. A TCI Roll Stop kit (line lock) will cost you approx $170.00 from the big speed shops. Give A1 a try. Hurst also do one, probably the same coin. If the car is a manual, you could use two line locks. One to completely stop the rear brakes working, and the other to HOLD some brake pressure on the front brakes, so you dont have to heel & toe, or grow another leg, when doing big skids. PM me if you need more info, etc.

^ This.
Put them on the front lines, and lock the pressure in. Release brake pedal. Win. But line lockers are the proper way of doing the job.

how about you disconnect the rear brakes from the distro block and put a plug in there .... that way you can get rid of the rear barkes alltogether ...
thats if you are only using this for a burnout car |
