can anybody please tell me how 2 beef up these autos
i have opened up this topic twice already and every one keeps changeing the subject to manuals.. if u no how to strengthen up an EL XR6 auto please tell.

No need to be so secretive Big Kev, let all of us auto owners know how to improve the BTR box. Not a lot of info out there, and iv'e talked to a lot of automatic shops. They either know nothing about modifying the BTR box or if they do dont want to go into to much detail or give away there secrets.

Had new clutches & Bands put in mine with a bit higher stall on the converter.
Also had the line pressure increased aswell. Changes very hard!!

Heat is what kills these transmissions, keep them cool and they are fine for some big power. To keep them cool, fit yourself an adjustable S5 solenoid to ramp up the line pressure (or an electronic shift kit if you wan tto do it on the cheap), and then a big trans cooler. Service it regularly and you should be set for 200-250rwkw without any issues.
