My brother put a EA 5spd into his car on the weekend and him and my dad asked me to post on here and ask how to wire it up properly. Its a series 1 EB with the original ECU.

plug the auto inhibitor switch on ( it has 2 plugs, u only want one of them plugged in and i forget which one (if its the wrong one the car wont start) and set it to the same position as "d"
then it will idle fine |

I think setting it to Neutral would be a better idea. You might also have to connect a resistor to the temp sensor wires to prevent the trans overheat engine strategy kicking in.

naa when u set it to netural it idles higher in anticipation of needing the handle to load if u put it in drive
