Well as you may have read, I bought some BA rims and got my adapters today, well i had troubles using the existing BA wheel nuts, but found the lock nuts fit great, as did some old steel wheel nuts I had here. no probs after that, all done as tight as they would go.
Drove up the street and all was good, u turn at the end to come back home and one whel falls off, the car shoots 6 feet in the air, wheel is now f**k, hub adapter is f**k, rear 1/4 is f**k, peirced the fuel tank when landing and bent the rear axel. NOT HAPPY JAN Oh, and have a really sore neck. Moral of the story, hub adapters were banned for a reason, STEE R CLEAR |

The guys i bought them from said the standard for nuts will go on, as there is an option when ordering them. Guess I am going to be calling them tomorrow. There were nuts supplied to attach the adapter to the cars hub, not a drama at all. the wheel fell off bt adapter remained on the car. Thing that gets me is all 5 nuts, rattle gunned on and tested with brace, came off in the space of 40 meters.

Yeah something other then the adaptors were at fault by the sounds of it.

The studs are 3.5cm long, plus the machined part at the top, so i doubt the length is the problem.
I only got the adapter so I can front up to the tyre shop tomorrow, Has to get a tow truck and he took to their holding yard till I can have a good look at it (I know the tow truck driver) I will try get some pics nect week as I am working the rest of the week. I am wondering wether to sell the remaining ones and the wheels, or maybe get the adapters restudded at a trailer place, as they can supply me with suitable nuts designed for the studs they use. But not sure i I will ever feel safe on them |

You more then 100% either didnt tighten them up enough (eg. put a bar between the nuts to tighten it not "hand tight") or used the wrong nuts.
I had my adapters on my falcon for well over 6 months of interstate travelling, harsh driving and sideways action and NEVER had a problem what so ever. Saying that even TerroristGHIA with his has had no problem and still hasnt. You seriously did something wrong, its not the product buddy, its the user! harsh but true .. |

Not tight enough.....rattle guns have never let me down b4 and doubt they ever will. I will be speaking to the tyre guys tomorrow and see what they say, I will take the nuts in too.
