just wondering how hard it is to replace the front and rear springs on an ef falcon. is it worth doing yourself or getting someone else to do it?

you'll need spring compressors for the front! can be very hazardous, they have alot of stored energy..
as for doing it yourself, never done it so cant comment there

well i just finished doing the front and rear springs in my EB, it not that hard really, the rears are a piece of piss no troubles there, but the fronts are a bit more of a f**k around but generally quite easy as well, just a bit more effort.
get your self some spring compressors, you will need them for the front, not so much the back but defiently need then for the front! also go and get one of those DIY books, there pretty helpful as well.

If you've got some tools and are willing to give it a go, it shouldn't be a problem doing the fronts.
I did them myself for the first time and encountered no problems. Here is my attempt at a shock/spring change for the front, but someone might want to go over it before you follow it: http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~falcon/tut ... Shocks.pdf |

Its easier to replace the sway bar when the car is sitting level as it wont be twisted out the way.... And also, never reuse a split pin. Theyre as cheap as chips, so just replace them.

The car made a good spring compressor I thought. |

Easy as pie.
Give it a bash, you'll learn a new skill! Fronts were a bit fiddly, and the rears were easy as piss, cause I was switching diffs at the same time!

the rear is simple, it took me under 1hr to do both rear springs/shocks.
It's the front that takes some time.
