was down at the wreckers today, saw a diff in a v8 fairlane. numbers on it read 003257. 3.23:1. 94DR-4005-WB. and a tag around the filler plug that said something like high performance. just wondering if anyone knows this is an LSD or not? i know i can just spin one wheel and see if the other turns the same, but it might just be thrashed out so i just wanna cross reference the numbers. cheers.

Noooo... You should know better!!!

If it was an NF diff, it should have a sticker on the top half of the drivers side axle tube. It is written on this if its LSD or not. Usually on an LSD, this sticker is yellow. If its white, its a single spinner.

Its probably a single spinner as LSD was an option on a Fairlane, so the buyer would have to tick a box.

Also, on older E series, High Performance iirc is a slightly lower ratio (larger numbers) where as, Spin Resistant/Limited Slip Indicates LSD.

also, dcstraight encountered a NL concord diff with a Yellow sticker (but tagged high performance on the filler plug) Wasn't a limited slip.

strange one that was.

"High Peformance" tag on the filler denotes 4 pinion centre on ye older E-Series.
