Is this Tremec T-56 TM1386000012 (http://www.autometer.com.au/description ... 1386000012) the same as the T56's used in Falcoons? E.g. can be used to convert a T5 BA XR6T to 6 speed (with the appropriate clutch kit and mounts and what ever other little bits)?

Car in my question is a factory manual, but it is a 5 speed, he wants 6 for two reasons a. because it addds another gear, and b. because the box is stronger, the box in question can hold up to 450 ft/lbs which according to the conversion I found using google is 607.5nm.

oh ok cool. i would think the ecu would need mapping for the 6th gear.

the only thing that may be different to the holden one is the input shaft length and the gear ratios..... hmmm

I'd be suprised if the ECU needs anything done to it. It's a manual gearbox so it's not controlled by the ECU like an automatic transmission. And the current ECU already knows it's got a manual gearbox. I don't think they have sensors to tell them what gear they're in.

Yes it is different to the Holden one, which is why I have linked the Ford one. I wasn't entertaining even attempting to fit a Holden one.

manual computer, and take it to ford and have it programed to the BEM.
a bloke up here had a major head f**k up here, and all because he didnt grab the ecu. if you try to trick it, it ends up locking the revs to like 1500rpm iirc

The ECU doesn't need any changes in it for a 6-speed, the only thing you can do if you wanted to was program the reverse lock for when your driving.
