Recently I've been feeling that my diff is getting a lil sloppy
Today I booted it a lil bit around a corner and noticed that only the inside wheel lost traction and no sideways action. Gave it abit more gas and still only the inside wheel spun. Does this mean the diff is wearing out or in need of a service? Also, what would be involved in a service and what price range would I be looking at? Car is an AU3 XR8 which has a standard 3.45 lsd diff (manual). Cheers Dave

Get the diff hot, then change the oil in it first, and go from there.
If it isn't better, then it will need a rebuild. A couple of pics of an AUI XR8 diff. Had to be re-bearinged after the oil was changed. ( Used Catrol XFA ), and got noisy in 3 weeks after oil was changed. Now it has Penrite Limslip ( 90??) in it. No probs since.

yeah, I had my diff oil changed about 6 weeks ago so it should still be pretty fresh.
I also get abit of a knocking sound from the rear when the car bunny hops a lil. Im sure its from the diff aswell as it sounds like its coming from the middle of the car underneath the wheels. Cheers Dave
