DBA should recommend what pads to use with their rotors for different driving conditions e.g. a chart of some sort. Why dont they point out NOT to use them with Bendix Ultimates ?.

They dont stop any better than the protax and the slots are purely for wank factor, on brembos they're their for a reason but you get what you pay for I suppose. Sorry guys I'm not trying to get into an argument here and I'm not a sales rep for PROTAX or whateva they're called, I'm just stating at how disappointed I was at forking out near $300 for an overated piece of $#^%*@ rotor.
If you werent hear to start an argument you shouldnt have made such a stupid statement. Slots are not there for wank value but have a role to play. They wipe away the resins and vapours that get trapped between the pad and rotor which lowers pad bite. They also aid in cooling which helps reduce fade. Stating they work on Brembos and not on cheaper units is a bit unguided IMO.

What makes you assume I made a stupid statement ? , stupid !

Have you used the PROTAX rotors yourself yet ? , I have used both, and the PROTAX are every bit as good a rotor (probably better) as the DBA's for much less price.

WOW !! thanks for stating that Captain obvious !

Thank f**k they also lower pad bite aye , otherwise I would probably have had no rotor left by the time I pulled up at the next set of lights. I mean these bloody DBA rotors should be cheaper than pads at the rate they need replacing...

DBA probably used to produce good rotors in the past but not anymore thats for sure. My personal opinion would be to stay the hell away from DBA's unless you want them for "looks" or can find a price that compares to that of the PROTAX brand , I just can't justify the price.

by the way seton005 thats a clean lookin ED :)

They problem seems to only be with you..
I too use the gold series rotors with no problems whatsoever.
Been on the car for years....
My next set will be x & slotted also.
As everyone here suggested, Its the pads that caused you the problem..

Out of boredom, I checked at work on Sunday at the retail is 138 a front disc, so he did you give a discount (porbably trade price or something).
But we all know Repco are over priced a lot of the time.

I remember reading a while ago on the DBA site that they recommended Ferrodo's.. Not sure if that still holds true.
