I killed my diff at Kwinana last night ;(

Maybe some of you saw it? Went well on the strip, then i thought id have a crack at the burnouts - then bang. shoulda just drove it home!!! (!st time out there and track was waaaay stickier than i expected - a bit embaressing!)

Anyway, i was thinkin of a mini spool (as it will be way stronger than lsd), but decided against after reading comments on here. Im running old 2.92 LSD from the XF, with 3.73 gears. The LSD centre is goooone.

Im leaning towards gettin LSD centre outta ED-AU (with 28 spline axels) and gettin it all fitted to my diff. Does this sound ok

BTW was it EB onwards that had 28 splines axels, or was it ED?? (anyone wanna get rid of one in Perth?? )

Cheers

Really?

Well ive had mine for 4 years, and done a fair few skids on it. It was creaking after the last run i did, then it shat itself on skid pan.

I had the electronic shift kit turned on so that wouldnt have helped...

Was it ALL EBII onwards that had 28 splines?

What broke on your diff?

The 4-pin 28 spline is a lot stronger all round, especially if you are thinking about a spool in the future. Seen lots of 25 splines give up once spooled with 1/2 decent power.
