Hi All,

Im about to do a koni red shock and king springs package and just wanted to know if the quoted measurements from King Springs are correct in real life practice???

FRONT

KFFL-26 365MM aka low springs

KFFL-26SL 345-350MM aka super low springs

REAR

KFRL-27 365MM aka low springs

KFRL-27SL 350MM aka super low springs

So do they really sit at the above quoted measurements or they about a few mm as i dont want to buy the springs right the first time.

So is anyone has the above springs in there car id appreciate if you could measure them and post what u find on here to compare. Apparently shocks have a little bearing on height so maybe we will see that.

Also please not how long they have been in there and roughly kms travelled on them as there sopposed to settle in up to 5mm.

Thanks in advance guys

Cheers

Michael

Yeh I could probably arrange that tomorrow.
I've got probably 50kgs of stereo in the boot, tho that wont make much difference.
I think the car sits too high for what its got in it... esp the front, so I'll be changing to some shocks with a lowered spring seat shortly, and probably losing half a coil of the rear..... and maybe even the front if it doesnt come down enough.

If you fit 19's all round the front will fill up for sure

As in 19inch rims all round

My previous EF XR8 had lows with 19's and filled the gaurds but another 5mm lower would of been nice.

Oh right, I thought you meant my rims were 19s lol.
Dunno about literally filling the guards any more over 15s/17s and the like. If you use the correct rubber the rolling dia will be the same.
15s with 205/65 are the same dia as my 17s with 235/45, and my mates 18s of 235/40 iirc. a 235/35/19 is the same size basically, all within 1% or so.

OK.
Front is 340, rear is 330.
And the car is still to high by an almost an inch, tho the rear tucks rubber pretty easily, its basically level with the guard atm. I havent even had to roll my front guards yet

50kg of stereo is significant, at least 5mm drop.

Koni reds are not gas pressurised (unless they've changed the design) and therefore have no effect on the height (unless the front spring seat is moveable, can't remember for sure but not likely on the reds). If gas pressurised shocks were fitted previously the car would become very slightly lower, but since you're changing coils that wouldn't be relevant.

Koni reds are valved for std coils, so when fitting h/d coils you adjust them one turn (or flip the bypass valve which is internal). You still have 1.5 turns left to adjust for wear so this practice is fine.

When i had 19's on my EF XR8 the front were 19/225/35 and when next to stock 15's with 205/65/15 they were just about half a inch taller

Stock 205/65/15 = 64.8cm
225/35/19 = 64cm -1.1%
235/35/19 = 64.8cm -.1%
245/35/19 = 65.5cm +1%
265/30/19 = 64.3cm -.9%
235/40/18 = 64.5cm -.4%
245/40/18 = 65.3cm + .9%
265/35/18 = 64.3cm -.7%
235/45/17 = 64.3cm - .6%
245/45/17 = 65.3cm + .7%
265/40/17 = 64.3cm -.6%
215/55/16 = 64.3cm -.7%
225/55/16 = 65.3cm +1%
235/50/16 = 64.3cm -.9%

235/35/19s are the closest to stock size.
