Over the years I've had several cases where noises were simply down to bolts not being done up tight enough - frequent culprits are rear shock lower attachement bolts - but I've had the same with front shock lower bolts too - as well as top arm hinge bolts.

I don't know about Queensland but a bloke I know here in NSW, Penrith to be exact, told me that a suspension place there that sells reco Stub Axles with the NEW ball joints already in them, maybe that could be an option for you? at least easier to change.
Maybe Pedders has something to help you with? |

ball jonts are beetween 40 -90$ depending on the brand and you need a minipress to do it in the car or take out the stub axle put it in the press and press it in and out TIP; PUT THE BALL JOINT IN THE FREEZER IN THE BOX AND PLASTIC SEALED SO NO MOISTURE ENTERS. this makes the outside diameter become smaller (contract) so its easir to press in

Try Driveline services archerfield 32757600. I got my susp done there and will be getting my ball joints / rubbers / tailshaft balance there when i have enough cash.
Great service and great price. You'll find the service much better then the others and price better too. |

i was getting sick of the noise today, so me and my grandfather pulled my wheel off and found that the mech who put my camber caster kit on never tightend up the top arm and it was causing it to knock, so i tightend the arm up today and no more knocking, also when they put my wheel back on they stripped one of my studs,
grr my 315,000km ball joints live on, thank god
