Hi new to forum after advice on fitting larger diameter tyres to FG cab Chassis, will The RTV 215/65r16 tyres fit onto standard ute without srubbing? I am after diameter not width, so is there an alternative?

The only place that I think will have a chance of rubbing is the upper control arm. This is the limiting factor (well apart from offset) when going to larger rims (therefore finding similar ORD tyres). You could get a rtv rim and tyre (not sure they are same offset either, sorry) and try it on the front. If it does fit, check your clearance to the control atm. This would obviously change if the rtv rims different offset rims, as if they sit out further, your standard rims might still have a chance of getting the tyre too close to the UCA

RTV rims do have a different offset. The alloy ones are 21.5mm, so 15mm less than all other Falcons which are 36.5mm. This moves the tyre outward, away from the suspension. I reckon with that offset, and maybe even the std offset, you'll fit the RTV 27" diameter tyre onto an FG no problems. BUT, will 16" wheels go over the brakes on an FG?
I run 29" tyres on my RTV on 10mm offset rims |
