Hey guys,
i have a question for you guys. I mate has a Laser and is having troubl with his gearbox. The "Hold" button keeps flashing on the dash, and the can is very sluggish to take off. The gearchanegs are also very heavy and slow. any suggestions as to wat could cause this? cheers Michael

What model Laser is it?

ah yeah sorry um its around a 2000, not sure exactly but the newer laser before the focus was introduced

The flashing hold light is a code being locked in.
That transmission is called a Jatco FN4AEL & they have a problem with diff bearings coming apart, The metal jams the solenoids & locks in a code - just hope it's not that! If you take it to your friendly Ford dealer or Auto trans shop & get them to put their scan tool on it, It'll tell you what is wrong. Is the transmission noisy & how many KM's has it done? |
