My trans has developed a rather unusual leak, it will leak 1 litre in a week, and if I leave it longer it does not lose any more. I top it up to the full line, and it leaks back out over the week.

This seems to me that it is leaking from somewhere reasonably high, and not from the trans pan. Any ideas where before I go hunting this weekend? I was thinking maybe the filler dipstick but could there be anywhere else?

Cheers

Could be, mine leaks too but everytime I check it it's full :? I had FORD check it, they said it could be the shifter selector, I think that is up high? I've been meaing to have mine fixed for a while. Maybe someone else can provide more answers.

have you fitted an after market dipstick to it? if so it may be the wrong one and is actually over full. the fluid may be blowing from the breather on top of the trans.

I had a look today, and it is most definantly coming from the o-ring on the dipstick. Will replace it in the morning. Original dipstick as far as I know.

Let you guys know how it goes.
