Hi all,
My tranny is acting odd... It holds first gear till about 4000 rpm then immediately jumps though second to third at 60-70km roughly. When you put the boot in after it's jumped to 3rd.. it won't drop back to second.. it waits till you really put the boot in and then it changes to 1st.. then almost immediately back to 3rd again. Car had a shift kit of sorts in it when I got it.. I removed it and soldered the original wires back together... but it didn't solve the problem (unless I missed a resister or something somewhere.) Also the idle is abit weird.. it holds revs too long before dropping down it feels like... Also, the speedo is working fine. I'm gonna manualise this later, so not a huge deal... but would like it working ok till then if possible. any thoughts folks? many thanks Frank |

Frank,
Disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour, and see if the fault still persists. If it does persist, then it may be internal, ie a bad solenoid, or a broken band |

left the battery out overnight with no useful effect...
I think I'll just have to deal with it then till I put the manual in.... was hoping that I missed a resistor or something from the shift kit removal.. but can't think of any that would screw things up this badly. |

drive it like a manual in power mode. rev up. let off. change. go. it will take a bit to get used to and get it right but its the only way. i have the same issue so the manual is goin in mine soon.

yeah.. I got a manual pedal box with cruise control button on the clutch... so just got some other bits to source and I'll be good to go.
