Hi all, i recently pulled out my dash to change the pedal box over for my manual conversion, all is fine and went well apart from one thing. After I did the change I took the car for a spin around the block, it drove fine, and then all of a sudden the speedo stopped working and the car stayed in second gear (limp mode??) I pulled over, turned it off, and then turned it back on, and it drove fine. The next day I drove it for about 100kms with no dramas what so ever. And then this morning on my way to work I was on the free way and it did the same thing. I was doing 110 and then all of a sudden the speedo died, but this time it kicked back in, but the car stayed in second gear. I pulled over turned it off then on and then it went fine.
When I pulled the dash out I unplugged the million and 1 looms on the drivers side, I made sure I numbered them all and put them all in precisely. I have no idea why its doing this, can anyone shed some light? I feel like it maybe limp mode… but why? Its an EB2 xr6. Cheers in advance

The problem will be your speedo sender.
A fault in the speedo sender will cause the gearbox to go into LHM. If the speedo comes back the car still needs to be turned off to reset it. It wont go out of LHM while still running. Check the wiring for the speedo sender and/or replace the sender as well. |

Ah ok that makes sense. Must be the wiring considering I piled the dash out. I'm thinking it could be a wire that I connected when i put thetrip computer in a while ago. I made sure the cluster looms were in securely. Any idea what number pin the wire is? (might have to check tech doco)
