hmm interesting, Wet handling is something im really trying to improve because I find the falcon needs to be driven with the lightest touch these days or it spins. Im really worried when I let other family members borrow it.

I don't think these lokka's act like a full locker around corners. If there is a load on the wheel when turning, it will still allow it to spin at a faster rate.

you have experience with lokka's? |

If you read the website it says that the wheels are always turning at the same rate unless when turning on a hard surface. If 1 wheel starts to turn faster than the other it will unlock and act like a single spinner.
Rollin on eafalcon.com has one of these and loves it. I will definately be getting one once my LSD dies. |

what happens when cornering over a rough surface under acceleration? if one wheel looses contact with the road it will spin faster, does that mean the diff will unlock?

Nah, i haven't experienced them but have read up about them, and other people's experience's with them, and they are supposedly allow either wheel turn at a greater rate than the other when cornering. But i can't say its gospel as i don't have one.
I would like to try one as i need a new diff. People say they are noisier than a normal LSD, but you should never lose the LSD effect, unlike LSD's which wear. They're also meant to be a bit grabby when parking, so have to take it easier when doing so. But they seem like a good idea. |

i've got one in the back of my sierra 4x4, basicly if you drive any corner with the power on it will stay locked. back of the power and it will unlock.
cruise around a corner and it will be unlocked. i've never had it unlock in a high load situation and i'm talking i very modded sierra with 31in tyres, crewler gears (6000rpm in low 1st = walking speed) exedy safari tuff clutch blah blah blah, and driving the thing through and up some very tigh and very high grip terrain |

ok, i currently have my stock open EL diff after killing the lsd i had. Can i fit one of these to the open diff or will i have to get my LSD fixed? Are these legal? Will this be better than an LSD as I do track days and skids and i found the LSD had a bad habit of not always working
cheers nick

You need an open centre, i.e no LSD to fit these.
They are meant to basically never wear out like an LSD does. SO should be perfect if you keep wearing the LSD out in your car. |

i have a detroit easy locker in my f100. it is one of the best mods i ever made. it now will go heaps more places. it is a bit clunky at times, and it clicks when turning and going slowly. it is amazing,if you have the power on, both wheels are locked. fishtails and donuts ahoy !

This is how it works: While driving straight, both wheels are driven together, as with a spool or CIG locker. when you go around a corner, the inside wheel will stay locked to the crown wheel and the outside will freewheel. Essentially: No wheel can spin faster than the crown wheel except if the mechanism fails This means that if only one wheel has traction, the diff will lock and (hopefully) drive you out Hope this clears it up, its been about 8 years since i studied them at trade school but i've fitted a few to trucks and they work a treat |

cheers blackute,
scenario- you accelerating through a corner (car has a lokka) and the inside wheel lifts and spins does the lokka allow it to spin? I'm finding it hard to see the advantage when cornering in a streetcar if it drives the wheel with least traction (the inside wheel) when cornering |
