I'm building a cheap drag racing car for a bit of fun
What diff gears are available in the 4.1 - 4.8 range to suit E-series falcon diff. Ideally I want around 4.5. And what is the donor vehicle they are sourced from? I'm in New Zealand so please give full vehicle make and model in case I need to search Ebay Australia as we don't get all the same vehicles you get in Aussie Thanks in advance for any help

Diff is the same for an E series in NZ as it is in AUS. They were made here. Example http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BTR78-4-1-FO ... 2584f0d017 |

Thanks for the excellent replies and links. Nissan Pintara is something we don't get over here
So 4.11's are the lowest gear set available? Does anyone do a mini spool to suit? Or a full spool? It's a budget track only car, so street drivability doesn't enter the equation. cheers

I see some listed on Ebay but the seller claims they fit EA-EL???? I thought EA-EB1 were a different axel spline count to EB2-EL. 25 v's 28 spline IIRC When I said budget, I meant the whole car - that's why I'm going to run the original BW diff rather than swapping in a 9". A mini spool is well within the budget.....

Pretty hard to find 4.11's over here in NZ, I managed to get a set of 3.89's out of a R31 from a guy on Trade Me but haven't fitted them as they looked a bit worn out and was told they would whine a fair bit even if set up properly (apparently they were pretty weak gears and were later replaced with 3.91).
I'm guessing that the R31's and Pintara's used a 25 spline diff? The 3.89's I got are a 75 series gear set (28 spline BW diffs in e-series use the matching 78 series gear set) but can be made to fit correctly into a 78 series diff. Was told by a couple of diff specialists that a spacer/shim needs to be made up for the pinion or something like that when fitting 75 series gears into a 78 series housing. As for minispool, can't go past Tuff Car Parts for that. http://www.tuffcarparts.com/index.php?r ... uct_id=181 |

Are you saying that I need to select a 3.23/3.27/3.45 donor or I will have problems?
