so i have had my car at the mechanics for the past couple of days having some major work done and the mechanic called me today with not very good news. I was having front rotors machined, rears replaced, new pads all around and a brake flush amongst many other things. He said that after he flushed the brakes the front left capiper is buggered and is sticking on (hence i keep having to machine rotors), and the car pulls right when braking hard. Does anyone have some second hand front calipers in good order they want to sell and if so how much for?

EF ones will bolt on as well mate. How soon do you need them? I have a set I can pull off my EF that got bent the other day.

You can get seal kits from Burson's or other stores I guess - they're not too dear.
Not overly difficult to overhaul them.

AFAIK EBII-EL front calipers are interchangeable.
Sticking on ??
Probably the sliders the other caliper half moves on are seized and just need freeing up and lubed.

crisis averted. I picked up the car and went to the bank to get $$ for mechanic and the brakes were down right dangerous. The peddle had about 15cm travel and the brakes hardly worked, not to mention spearing me into the right hand lane traffic constantly so i took it back and said i wouldnt drive it. My mechanic is a bit of a legend though so he took me to a pick apart and got a caliper off a wreck and installed it. Brakes are much better now thank god, i was going to not drive it until they were fixed they were that bad.

I think it was just ceased and over the hill in general. When I drove it, it stuck on and when I braked it did nothing. Very nasty to drive with. The mechanic told me he had to drill and grind the rust off the bleed nipples so they had likely not been bled or touched for a very long time. A stark reminder that the previous owner of my car didn't maintain it well at all. There is a special place reserved in hell for people who don't maintain their cars and sell them on with tons of problems.
