I have never popped the balljoint. Always undid the 4 nuts on the top pivots (Upper control arm bushes). But I am usually fitting a kit at the same time.

just a quick question. I got some king springs and 17 inch wheels off a mate, about to put them on, just wondering does the tighter end of the spring go at the top or the bottom? the end with the flat part that is. Never done this before.
