depends if your doing it yourself, or can get a mate to help or something.

ive got dobinsons low comforts (lows but with more spring rate) and they're good. got them from onlineperformance at ebay. just ask for them. should be about $250

then go to pedders after they're installed and get an alignment for $70 and a safety check for $14 and insurance is all sweet as far as the install goes

and dont go through pedders, anywhere between $600 and $800. thats what happened to my mate

i was considering lowering my EL as I can get new shocks and springs for 380 from work, but then when I was flushing, bleeding and replacing my pads today I decided it was low enough as it would be too hard to jack up from the axles and such if it were any lower. As for brands to use I dont thing there is a huge difference in springs, just the shocks. But correct me if im wrong

Now everyone will probarbley recomend Kings or Pedders springs as they are the most well known brands. Fiftyone and my self went for Dobinsons which are also Australian made. Ive had Kings before and found them to be a little harsh and Pedders well they just too expensive. As for shocks and struts if your only going for lows there is no need to replece the shocks/struts unless they are already worn. If you are replacing them and you are going for superlows or lower i found Ultima to be pretty ok, they are a shortened shock/strut for better suspension travel when using lowered springs the price is also fair. Its also wise to replace the camber kit so as the wheel alignment can be performed properly. If not replacing shocks/struts and only the springs and camber kit it should cost you around $240-$300 for springs (front and rear) and about $120 for camber kit (these prices dont include instalation) A wheel alignment will cost around $50.

Dobinsons spring works are right here in Rocky, head office. Been there and seen them make them.

or spend some money on spring compressors and do it your self to save money, they are about $30 from super crap, ripco etc

just takes a few hours, and you save enough to maybe chuck some new shocks in

dont forget to use axle stands when working under a car!!!!

rears are very easy, just pop the shocks out and raise the bum and your just about done. should have that done in under 1 hr, its that easy, levering the old springs out are a bit of a pain but the lowered ones go in real easy

Fronts are whats going to take you 75% of your time. cos you have the spare cash cos you are doing it yourself.... I would put new shocks on the front and install the new springs on them. (will save you time in the long run). getting the old strut out can be a pain, but if you undo the top swaybar nut will allow the front suspension to drop enough to remove it. dont forget to mark what position the top of the strut is in (under bonnet) and that way you can put it back the same way as you had it before till you get a wheel align (I leave it 2 weeks til everything settles before I align).

I can help you fit your springs and get all the parts at a trade price. You will learn alot and I have all the tools needed to do the job properly.

The barrel shape (progressive rate) are only in the the BA onwards and some of the AU. Mine are the normal looking profile.
