Hey, my fairlane has SLS at the rear and im looking into getting it lowered when i get back to wa.. My question is, does the SLS have to be taken out (its crap anyway) do i need new shocks? And a camber kit? Car will eventually have 17's or 18's on it.

All help appreciated.. Cheers, Jason..

edit: car will be using superlows.

Yes the SLS has to be removed and replaced with new shocks, You will need shortened shocks/struts with super lows and ultralows. The same applies with a camber kit.

Yeah bthe SLS gets dissconnected, but not removed (you can remove if u wish though). then the shocks get replaced with shortened shocks, but get a package with shocks and springs that match, otherwise u will find it will ride a bit funny.

I will be going pedders shortly, seem to be the go with fairlanes, seems to work quite well for them.

Hope it helps.

I got quoted 1050 or 1150, for shocks + springs fitted from pedders, is that any good?

Don't pedders just rebadge king and monroe stuff?
If so, that's an ok price, but will still be rough as guts.

i havent heard that about the pedders, as far as i knew they had thier own brand.

Yeah i got quoted $1050 for springs, shocks and fitting. So it is around about the same as what you got quoted. I think it is a fairly good price for the package.

Pedders quoted me $920 for springs, shocks, struts and camber kit (parts only) I went somewhere else and bought monroe GT gas, king springs and noltec shim type camber kit, all up cost $604
You were quoted for springs, shocks/struts but no camber kit right? Camber kit fitted on average is around $300-350

Yeah, wasnt quoted on a camber kit.. I wana try n keep a degree of softness in the car and not have a rough ride like my mates commodore.. Can anyone recommend some good brands/products to keep the fairlane feeling good?

A camber kit doesnt change the ride it simply saves the tyres from scrubbing out.
