$150 is good value, i second that. Just a word of warning though, my S1 AU xr6 sits pretty high up at the back IMO maybe 1.5" above the tyre, maybe even 2"? Is that what you're after? I only say this because it may not LOOK much different than what you've already got. I can put up some pics if need be.

Also worth mentioning, The au XR has most likely IRS rear coils that wont go into an au with a live axle !!! Fronts no prob, rears ???

If you are going to buy the springs, I would suggest you only get the fronts. I have an AU XR6 I and I hated the back being higher than the front so much so that I got a set of king lowered springs and now it looks awesom and handles better.

please dont tell me they wont fit s**t Don't freak out just yet mate. Some S1 XR6 AU's like mine have a live axle which means the springs will fit with no worries whatsoever. One way to tell if you have IRS springs is if the top (and maybe bottom? don't quote me on this!) but the top coil for instance is smaller than the rest of the coils... It looks as if the spring is tapered at the top if you know what i mean? If the coils are the same size throughout you should be sweet. Can anyone confirm? Hope that helps. And sorry to hi-jack the thread but Papasmurf, what is your spring set up exactly? Stock XR springs on the front? SL or SSL Kings on the rear? Did you get shortened shocks? I hate how high my XR sits at the rear too! The front is a nice height but could be lower... Just wanted to see what looks best. Cheers! |

I got the rear SL springs and the beast sits level now. I retained the standard XR rear shocks and they work fine (fronts are standard)
As to your springs EF, they should be ok as long as they were from an XR6 that was early enough? Did you get the shocks as well? might be an idea to look into them as well. When you change the front ones, make sure when you remove the spring/shock combo that you take note of where the top housing with the rubber spring top fits in relation to the setup you now have as putting them back together in the same position will save a LOT of headaches. I would also take a look at the Rubber on top of the coil spring and make sure it is still in a good condition, if not, get new ones. |

Thanks Papa Smurf, i'm absolutely cheering because i thought i'd have to replace my shocks which can get pricey. Where did you get your SL's from and how much did they cost you if you don't mind me asking?

Badam, Got my springs from these blokes in Penrith.
http://www.wholesalesuspension.com.au/ I think I paid $100.00 for the Rear set. I have never been sorry that I replaced them either |

The series 1 au is higher than the series 2. I'm not sure about the xr versions though. I wouldn't get series 1 xr springs unless i knew what i was doing.
