Hi all,

I've recently been looking into lowering my xr6 a bit more as right now its sitting too high for my liking. I already crossed out coilovers as they are way too expensive for me right now. I have called up some of the suspension shops near me and the quotes I have gotten are very expensive and seem excessive:

Pedders: Springs, shocks and camber kit for 1900$ 575mm rear and about 595mm front (bottom of rim to guard)

A1: Springs and shocks (assuming camber kit as well not sure) for $2500  dropped 50mm all round which is alot lower than pedders

I was wondering if I bought king springs off ebay and installed them with either a mechanic or some mates would I need to buy shortened shocks and chamber kits to make it work? As both ebay kits only drop it 30mm which is about what I am looking for.

Use Lovells, better spring all round.

Yes it would be recommended to use lowered struts and shocks.

Oh okay I'll keep those in mind. Is there anyway that I can run stock stocks and struts for a few months until I can buy shortened ones. Is there also another ready I can lower it? Perhaps getting the suspension setup from a BF model or an FG if it works?

You can run on std struts and shocks for a period of time before they flog out but you need to pull the springs back out to do the struts and shocks. Save up the cah and do it all together.

BAII and FG will not fit the BA & BFI.

The lowest Ford go with showroom cars is XR("Low"), similar to "Low" springs (approx 30mm) from Kings or other spring suppliers.

If you want to do it, do it properly first time.
