i don't think so mate. like i've said earlier. i owned an xr6 wagon. pics in my gallery of ride height and it never bottomed out going round a roundabout or over a speed hump. i also had an el futura wagon before that and that had blocks in as well and no drama's. i don't see how dropping it 2 inches is going to turn it into some poor handling monstrosity. maybe the experience you've had (if you have that is) there was more to it than just blocks. maybe the whole rear end was shagged and needed new leaves anyway.

XR6 wagon has uprated suspension so of course it'll handle better.
Ok this is going nowhere.. if you want a cheap mod that'll increase the looks of your car go the lowering blocks. If you want your car to stop handling like a boat get new leaves. Simple |

Simple whs ^^^ an xr6 wagon with lowerign blocks is SOO diff to a stock wagon with blocks for 1 suspension is stiffer 2 the rear anti roll bar is thicker sheesh of course the blocks wont make much of a diff BUT go and put a set of lowered leaves in and damn u will feell the diff

Well I have the blocks on my wagon and the only thing that bottoms out is the hard plastic mudflaps at the back. Mines a Fairmont too and with new sports shocks, it handles heaps better than the stock up in the sky setup. I understand where frank is coming from as the rear leaves are designed to absorb weight but the blocks are fine if you dont intend to carry big loads anyway.
One thing to watch out with lowering the wagon is the rubber bump stop under the car cuts ground down a bit by the tailshaft on the diff flange. Other than that, for cosmetic value, they do the job just fine. |

Oh yes, XR6 wagons did have a sway bar at the back.

I thought that was the whole point of a wagon.. to carry things in the back all the time. That's what mine is used for. When I had the car fully loaded plus a trailer, the standard suspension dropped the rear of the car by around 20cm. The wheels were well inside the guard. If I had lowering blocks instead of new leaves, I would not be able to do that sort of stuff.

my mate had lowering blocks in his wagon 3inch ones i am pretty sure, yeh the tailshaft copped a flogging, coz he didnt have the front lowered, but once he got the frn lowered it was fine, look mad, nuittin like a dumped wagon

Whiteliine offer two sizes for the lower blocks, largest being 2" if I remmeber right, and they state that your likely to get the tailshhaft hhitting at that hheight. |

i also thought that 2" was the biggest you could go. 3" and you would def have trouble. i had to make sure the bump stop above the dif was in good nic or i would have trouble also.
