Hey guys, just got an Ultra Low King Spring with Monroe GT Shocks. Wondering, how hard is it to change springs and shocks at home by myself? Or would it just be easier for me to take it to suspension place down the road and pay $400 for it....

Easy to do. Depends how good you are with tools

1) buy a manual, ($50) and read it.

2) buy a spring compressor ($50)

save $300 8-)

about 1/2 a day

backs seem easy enough with the right tools. fronts are what i'm bothered about. gonna have to do some reading, and find a set for the front, lol.

If you can do the rears, you should be able to do the fronts. You will need a spring compressor though

best o buy a manual, it will do for other jobs too 8-)

Not the best with tools rofl

But it's definately doable? At least that's some what of a reassurance. Will find a manual and see if I can attempt it.

I'm sure that with some bribing there are a few QLD members who could help out!

Haha RCE, you dropping a small hint there eh ;)

I'll have a looksy, and if I think I need help I'll pay $150 for a helping hand to drop by for a few hours, play with some tools while throwing back some cold beers

I'll be looking at doing it in a few weeks, once I finish with work. I'll have a LSD on the way also, so I might hold out until that's been bolted up. Body kit will go on first, so I know how much clearance I need.

What do you drink? Just so I know what to supply before hand ;)

Decided to not go with Ultra Low, went with Super Lows instead. Got Monroe GT Shocks and Struts also. Sway bar and body also on their way as of 5 minutes ago :D

Now all I have to do is wait for this guy to put the LSD up for Buy it Now and I'll be ready to play :)

How much work did you want to do? Diff swaps are something I have done, but they aren't fun! BA/F need the entire cradle dropped.

Almost anything except for XXXX and VB!

Well if I can do all the work at home, I will. Except I want the diff to get tightened before I put it in. Sway bar is pretty self explanatory, so is the body kit.

I'm a TED man

Sway bar is pretty easy, LSD will need to be done by someone who specialises in diffs. What is it out of? I can also send you the way of a painter to do the bodykit + fitment too!

TED's are alright, seems to be the go to drink at my place.

The LSD that I originally was looking at was from an XR6T, but apparently the tailshaft is different in the turbo's and 8's. So I've found one thats from a N/A XR6, and it's also done less KM's. Only $550 for the diff, plus whatever for postage. Gotta wait for the guy to message me back.
