uumm since noone else has answered i'll take a crack.
Springs: seems most popular are: King Dobinson king are obviously a huge name and very reputable. Dobinson are australia, and are a progressive wound spring, which means the firmen up as they contract. This is suppose to be better for comfort. Shocks- depeding on the price u wanna spend. 150-200 a pair would get you somthing along the lones of monroes, pedders etc. i have monroe sensa trac with dobinson springs, but i find my ride terrible, and very bouncy. ~250-350 a pair would get you somthing along the line of KYB or KONI. koni are adjustable which i guess is a plus. dont know much about KYB ~500 a pair would get you bilstiens, which are completely servicable. the one quote i remember about these shocks was: "god uses these shocks" i think its pritty common with most people to reccommend a camber kit if your going superlow or lower.... so personally, for best results i would go for dobinsons with bilsteins. but thats gonna cost you somwhere around 1300 to do. another thing you might think about is doing your bushes..... but i dont really know much about that. except mine s**t me cause they sqweek |

For a cheapy (cosmetic) job, KYB shocks with king springs.
In between job, pedders shocks and springs For a good (handling) job, Koni yellows or bilsteins with Lovells or Whiteline springs

Yeah, its not a bad idea while you are under there, depending how low you go and how/what sort of driving you do, it may not be 'necessary'. But as I said, good idea to.
