I know this is the zillionth time someone has posted a thread about lowering an EF ...but I think my situation's a little different.

I have the full Venom bodykit, and the front bar sits pretty low, just clearing most kerbs at mo.

My current clearances are as follows:

Front bar to ground (concrete): 185mm approx.
Front wheel to arch / guard: 45mm approx.
Rear wheel to arch / guard: 50mm approx.

Rims: 17"
Current springs: Yellow (Kings?), already on car when I bought it, so maybe not factory height.

SEE MY GALLERY FOR AN IDEA OF MY CURRENT SET-UP

Quotes I've had so far:

Tyre shop: $695 for new springs & shocks (can't remember brand), NO camber kit.

Suspension shop: $780 for new low springs & camber kit, NO shocks

I've read that to do it properly, I should actually get springs, shocks AND the camber kit ...so why are each of these guys leaving something out?

Are the above quotes any good?

Also bearing in mind my current clearances, and the fact that I want the car to sit FLAT (no difference between front & rear, i.e no a***-up look!) ...what type of springs (low, superlow) should I use for front & back?

Do I also need SHORTENED shocks for the front?

Please help guys ...as I wanna get her lowered this week!

P.S. Anyone know somewhere decent to get this done in Perth?

185mm front to ground is heaps ;)

mines on superlows and at a guess, id say my front bar is at about 140mm?

superlows will drop you about 40-50mm

as for the rest..

when i lowered mine it was 550 for just the springs installed and an alignment..

didnt get camber kit or new shocks, the guy who i talked to, (owned a bloody clean ED) said that itd be right without shocks and camber.. but can change car to car. my camber is alright i think was neg 1 or 2 degrees both sides

WA suspension centre is the place I would go. They will fit a camber kit. About $900-$1200 for a good setup.
They make sure the car will sit flat after about 4 weeks, while your in the car.
No point having the car sit flat and then you get in and adjust the weight distribution and now its low on the front right. They account for the weight of things on the drivers side and the weight of things on the other side so that after about 4 weeks the car will even out with you sitting in it.

I got my Fairmont lowered there and I went back after a couple of weeks saying that my car wasnt sitting even all round. They explained to me the deal and about another 2 weeks it was all good as they said.

Red bonnet? WTF Fraser?

Do you know any decent lowering shops in Perth, mate?

I can understand why a tyre shop may not offer a camber kit ...but a suspension shop not offering shockies?!!

Do you guys think that these 2 quotes are

I'm going to talk to the tyre shop (Tyrepower Canning Vale) tomorrow about whether they think a camber kit is necessary ...although I know Fraser has had some past experiences with the pro's & cons of camber kits!

At least they offered me new shockies as part of their package.

What about this 'shortened shocks or struts' business for the front? ...still something I have to worry about?

markr154, i got mine done at wheels world in osborne park. Perhaps a little pricey on the labour side of things, but go in there and talk to John. He will sit down, ask you what you want and recommend different things. He actually ended up saving me money.

Either way get other quotes as well.

Good luck and let us know how it goes :)

Got mine done here in canberra but yeh its fun isnt it with the venom front bar hey lol NOT.

But yeh I still wanted to mine to handle really well with the 19's and go easy on the guard rub out so wasnt the normal job.

Ended up at $2600.

Was sway bars, blistein shocks, super low king springs, camber/castor kit all fitted aligned and balanced...few other lil things as well +$100 to have a mate roll my guards

Had to cater for over 100kg of car audio related gear in the boot

Looks great and handles sweet.

$2600? Wow ...she'd have to handle well for that outlay!

Just doing things one at a time, got a Tickford ECU, getting an RPD Stage 2 next month, then lower, then 3.45 diff.
