i want to lower the lane, not sure what hieght yet though.
i have been told that king superlows are too low for the lane, and the lows are too high. so my question is what does everyone else have on thier lanes? what do the lovells lower too? the same as kings? all opinions welcome, as dont wanna buy a set, then find out they are s**t, and have to fork out more $$$ cheers

search this topic; ive seen so many threads about lowering fairlanes on here now.
Basically depends if ur after looks of driveablility. Superlows look the part but you wont be able to go over speedhumps/driveways with ease.. Personally wouldnt go any lower than i am. I recommend Whiteline/lovell springs in that order and for shocks id recommend bilstein/koni/koyb in that order. Height, well thats upto you.

I put Low Kings in my wagon (not a lane, but its LWB) and it scrapes more than my XR8 with Superlow Kings.
When I was on a cruise with the Sydney, ACT and Newcastle FPV clubs in Melb 2 years ago (the year my XR8 snapped a tailshaft, so I took my wagon), out of all the cars there (all lowered), I was the only 1 to get stuck on a speed thing leaving a park. (it was one of those ones that are supposed to collapse as you drive over them)

i got superlows on the back and lows on the front shortened shocks all round. had to go lows on front because turning the wheel full lock would cause the wheels to hit the guard and inner plastic guards... took all that out and rolled it, still did it so put the lows in front now i can do full lock turns without scraping the tyres on the guards, thats with 20 inch wheels too. if you have smaller rims then superlows are dangerous on the LWB cars....

Hey, i would go and talk to Ford, seriously. I went, they quoted me less then many suspension places. I have a full pedders setup (shocks and springs) the ride height is nice, and i have still kept the nice ride which is expected from fairlanes.

Actually go talk to ford spare parts?? why would ford be selling pedders products? how much did it cost you if i may ask? for shocks/springs/labour?

i originally changed my ride to King Lows, teh car was the same height a sprevious 0 yes it stayed like that for a couple of months before i got the superlows put in, yes the car looked grouse but i payed for it!
Cut up tyres on the inside of the guard My front bumper underneath is worse for wear! The handling was fantastic could take corners hard fast and it would hold on to the rd - but it was hitting teh bumpstops every bump making it hard to drive as a daily driver Now i have tickford suspension in there and couldnt be happier - i think thats cause i am over modding too much now! I apprecaite the factory option (tickford) suspension as it handles well and still maintains comfort!

alrighty, went to pedders today to get a quote on the suspension set up.
this is what they roccomended. sports ryder coil spring front $73 each (2180) 2270 sports ryder coil spring rear $73 each (2270) comfort gas shock rear $72 each (8096) GSR sealed strut front $192 each (9918) with fitting they will charge $1000 even. i thought this was hell exspensive, but he reckons it will be the best ride you can get once you lower it, yes he prob just said that, but i have been informed that it is a good set up. so your opinions on the set up and whether u would justify the extra cash to go for this set up. cheers Ben

Hey, Ford told me that they use pedders suspension ans shocks in XR6's. So they ordered them in and fitted them. Not sure why Ford would be selling pedders products to be honest. It cost me $1100 for shocks, springs and labour. But if you can get them done for $1000, why not, thats an awsome price. Have a good one
