hey guys,
after doing a search on diff conversions, im left really confused lol. can somone state exactly what would be the easiest way to convert a EF fairmont to an LSD? ie. i assume changing the whole diff would be easiest, but is it just a matter of bolt in the new diff, change the speedo gears, and attach the handbrake cable? |

changing the whole diff would probably be the easiest, although if you buy 2nd hand you need to check that the LSD is still acting like a LSD
Other option is to get an LSD center and throw it in your housing.

not much, about a dozen bolts and a big screwdriver. Keep in mind the crownwheel bolts are left hand thread, and they are f**k tight. Its a good idea to undo them in the car with the handbrake holding the centre still, as its a pain in the a*** in a vice cause there isnt any flat surfaces to clamp in a vice on the hemi. Make sure that you get a 28 spline centre too, there is millions of 25 LSD centres out there but they wont fit your half shafts

I did a quick guide to swapping centers here - http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38853 (scroll down)
I am writing a proper guide for a tech doc, might be done in a week or so.
