hey guys,
after doing a search on diff conversions, im left really confused lol.
can somone state exactly what would be the easiest way to convert a EF fairmont to an LSD?

ie. i assume changing the whole diff would be easiest, but is it just a matter of bolt in the new diff, change the speedo gears, and attach the handbrake cable?

changing the whole diff would probably be the easiest, although if you buy 2nd hand you need to check that the LSD is still acting like a LSD

Other option is to get an LSD center and throw it in your housing.

not much, about a dozen bolts and a big screwdriver. Keep in mind the crownwheel bolts are left hand thread, and they are f**k tight. Its a good idea to undo them in the car with the handbrake holding the centre still, as its a pain in the a*** in a vice cause there isnt any flat surfaces to clamp in a vice on the hemi. Make sure that you get a 28 spline centre too, there is millions of 25 LSD centres out there but they wont fit your half shafts

I did a quick guide to swapping centers here - http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38853 (scroll down)

I am writing a proper guide for a tech doc, might be done in a week or so.
