Hey folks,
Sorry about this post, just a little unsure about this.
Im after an LSD diff for my EF I6. Now, im not sure on which is best to get. Also, traction is useless with a 3.08. Tyres aside..

3.45 or 3.7?
If i go 3.7, how far out will the speedo be?
Im not after strip or curcuit racing, just normal road use with a bit of punch. Which diff is best for me?
Oh and where would i be able to purchase a diff? Ford Spare Parts? Wreckers? Diff/Suspension shops?
Just wanna change disc to disc.
In Perth btw.
Thx guys..

If your having trouble getting traction with a 3.08 diff, it's gunna get worse when you increase the ratio. Except you'll have two wheels spinning so that might help your case.
3.45 will probably be easier to get as the Tickfords used them. and Ford readily sell the speedo cogs to correct your speedo reading.
And you relise the D in LSD is for Diff, just that you keep saying LSD diff...

3.45 would be my recomendation.
Still good for cruising at highway speeds, and there is a factory speedo sender available.
Look in the for sale section, theres often guys wrecking cars with 3.45LSD diffs.
Or check around with wreckers.

Dumb question No 1:

How do you confirm you have a LSD?

In the wet taking off both wheels spin and step sideways, around corners in the dry both wheels will step me out in a big way.
Slowly around corners then mashing da loud pedal gets a single insode wheel spinng.

Any body give me some info.

jack the car up from the diff to ensure both wheels are off the ground..then turn one wheel with ur hand...if the opposite wheel spins in the same direction, its an LSD, however if it spins in the opposite direction its an open-centre diff.........

or if that sounds like too much effort you could read the tag n the back of the diff housing? will say LSD or spin resistant diff or something along those lines....

yes....as long as both diffs are the same type (ie live axle or independent) IIRC
