Hi,
i am sure there is a document on replacing an open diff with an lsd diff, but the site won't let me search for some reason.. can anyone direct me to the section? if for some reason it isn't covered the car in question is a 96 falcon (dunno if its the last of the efs or first of the els) gli spec 5 speed. I remember reading something about the diffs having a different number of splines? which ones would go straight in? help much appreciated |

you need a 28 spline hemisphere.
EF and above? search under Google, it has been documented a few times.

ok thanks,
I couldn't find that much info on google, cam up with a lot of trade classifieds references selling diffs and so forth. But anyway, could I just get confirmation as to which falcons have the aforementioned LSD? Will be safe in going an EF/EL lsd out of an xr6/8? or do I have more options in AUs or earlier e-series diffs thanks for your advice |

Are you after the complete diff with axles and all or just the LSD centre?
EF/EL XR's have LSD's from factory so yes you could source one from one of them. As said, EF/EL are all 28 spline, borg warner 78 series diffs. Wouldnt have a clue about what diffs are in later models. Earlier e-series (ea-ed) are 25 spline iirc |
