Just wondering if any of u know how good lucas pads are, I got some cheap from work a while back and my pads need changin soon either i'll put them on or buy some better ones.

no one know, i mainly wonna knowhow good the are with dust and i'll be gettin slotted rotors so i need to know if their good for that too

i had lucas on slotted rotors, they were really dusty. i'm running Bendix Ultimate fronts and Bendix Premium rears now and they pull up really well. being a metal composite though they will wear the disc faster.
if you want longer disc life then go Lucas but they will be dusty.

ever seen a F1 pulling up from 300km/h? expect similar dust production. I hate them, install lucas pads and paint your wheels black or they will do it for you.

lucas pads are hard as hell. you will go through a set of discs before you go through pads. and yes they do create alot of F**k brake dust. if you were to ask my oppinion i would suggest bendix genrel ct's all round. bendix ultimate are good but you have to keep them hot to work at optimum performance

go the EBC Green Stuff pads.. nothing but good news from anyone thats fitted them. I'm sure there is an exception, always is.. but these are a good bloody pad.

kool thanx, whats the best slotted rotors too get? I know it's been talked about before and i used the search thingie but come up with nothin. I have abs if that matterz.

I use and recommend Lucas 'green' pads. Yeah they're dusty, but they work great. I haven't had them wear out DBA slotteds excessivly quickly. I seem to get 3 pad changes to a set of disks. At one stage I was going though a set of pads and disks at the same rate.
DBA slotteds for normal street use, or go the DBA 4000 series slotted for some part time track fun.

Go with EBC Greenstuffs instead.... The Lucas pads cut your disc fairly badly as well.

Got DBA slotted rotors with greenstuff pads put on today looks great very happy, woz lucky too old pads only had a tiny bit lft on em and the rotors were down to their bare minimum. Mech said id have to ware em in first, annoyed i wanted to test em straight away, but tommorrows another day.

I was a bit late too, I would tell people to stay away from the greenstuff pads, I found when I put them on my BA wagon they fade worse than standard Ford pads, with a similar amount of dust.
As for dust on the Lucas, as many people have said they are very dusty, but an excellent pad in my opinion. I have also tried the Bendix ultimates in the past, and that is what will be going on the wagon next time. |
