im not sure what you mean lol but my kit keeps e series off set. at the moment its +8mm ( 8mm being the thicknesss of the rotor) im going to see how that runs and if it causes issues i can face 8mm off the face of the hub

Yeah I know :D

I meant that if we can find a hub/rotor that will sit 30mm out from the 0mm standard offset, that will give AU offset AND a cheap brake upgrade for e-series owners now that the price point for a cheap kit since you've shown it is easy

This is coming together really nicely now.

If you were supplied the required uprights and rotors, how much would you charge to do the chopping and machining?

Cheers

thats a good question, im not sure yet . I have access to a lathe , but mill on the other hand is a bit touch and go as a mate is doing it so cant always rely on him, but my gf's uncle works at a machine shop so might be able to scab the mill off him when ever i need it, hardest part is packing the uprights on the mill, machining them takes stuff all .

it would only cost me time to do the milling, and a grinding/cutting disc, bolts and plate, thats if work dont have any ill have to buy it. i obviously want to make a profit but without the prices being to insulting for you guys

i was thinking $400-$500 uprights machined including brackets to suit AU2 caliper
and $200 to machine the hubs. i can ring up machine shops and id say there prices may even be double compared to what ive said.

let me know whats yous think.
i may even have to give the guy a case or something to turn down the rotors, but i myself can may be able to do the milling.

everything else can be brought on ebay or auto parts shops which will be up to you

cheers

i kinda get what your saying but au owners have it easier than us e series owners, AU1 requires no machining just swap all AU2 bits on to get bigger brakes, to get 330mm rotors on a au it requires a bracket.

so yeah no machining on a AU for big brakes.

but i think what you mean is if someone wanted au wheels on a e series, that would only require longer studs and a 36mm plate, but id rather just get pre au wheels

Want it legal? Won't be cheap. I know my kit will be $1200+ depending on which variant is used.... But mine will be ADR approved.

No what I mean, is finding a disc that mounts on the E-series hub but when machined like you have machined yours it gives +30 offset and then the other 8 can be made up by the thickness of a disc.

I suppose a standard set of spacers could be used though :P

i don't think you'd find such a rotor though, but yeah you'd have to use spacers

then get new rotors, braided lines, pads, paint uprights, hubs and brackets, new ball joints, longer studs, wheel bearings, seals and thats it, probably get them crack tested aswell after tafe holidays.

Got the other bracket made . Both sides are done and ready to go after a few minor tweaks and painting . Had to file some metal off the caliper anchor plate as it wasn't made square in the corner . This other disc is badly warped , has about 2mm of run out and just skims across the anchor plate

Pics up soon

almost fit in a 16" ftr. the fins on the caliper were stopping it from fitting, if i had c4 caliper it would of fitted. lucky i have 19"s so not much off a issue, was curious to see it it cleared

ImageImageImage

now just need to touch up both brackets with a file, get new seals for calipers, new ball joints, braided lines, rotors, pads, paint it all then its done

how much actuall movement is there between the machined down hubs spigot and the au rotor centre??
in the pics it looks like there is a gap, i would be concerned about the rotor moving up and down from not being centered on the hub spigot...

well then i think it took 4 hours for the uprights and 4 hours for the hubs. 8x120= $960

may even take longer

it was moving up and down by 2mm when i spun it by hand, but i only have 3 wheel studs in atm, ill have to see how it is when i have all 5 studs in and the wheel is bolted up, but i think it should be ok.

but the OD of the hub and ID of the rotor is a nice fit, 1-2mm of movement if that
