What gives the au offset ? The upright or the hub?
If I get the custom hubs made I'd have to take into account the thickness if disc and where the hub sits on the axle

Running a custom hub that uses E Series bearings but floating rotors. It's not as simple as its sounds with hubs and offset with an AU rotor, you need to make sure the rotor height works with the caliper positioning. My uprights are all done by a machine shop, and my hubs are custom CNC billet

My CNC work is all being done VERY cheap, it's amazing what a good relationship with neighboring businesses can do. To retain E Series offset using the C4 Caliper you wither have to run an EL GT Rotor, or a 94-00 Mustang Cobra rotor.

Someone needs to get a set of AU2/EL hybrid stub axles cast/machined up and then organise a group buy
Would bolt in to e-series as per standard, but give you the AU onwards hubs and offset, and the ability to bolt on any AU2 onwards brakes. EDIT: pretty sure the stub axles are cast steel. |

what is stoping us from using the standard ef/el upright with a el GT rotor
while using either AU3 or B series calipers and just having a bracket made to attach the caliper to the standard el up rights? surely this would be the easyest and heapest way around the brakes. and should still have the e-series offset.

There's a el gt rotor on eBay for $450 , that's one rotor lol yes ive been looking at thoses. surely there is another model car that runs the same disc like the mustangs that we could use as a cheaper option. then again ill gladly pay 900 bucks for those rotors as long as we can get a bracket made for less then 200. how often do you change discs? not that often....

The standard upright has an "ear" on it that needs to be machined off to allow bigger rotors...from memory the piece that needs to be cut off supports the pad?

Yes they need to be machined flat then 2 holes drilled and tapped for a caliper bracket .
