hey guys lookin at doin a manual conversion in my ef, just need to know a couple of things.

when i swap the ecu's is a it a straight plug and play or is there some wiring involved eg soldering, wiring in new plugs

im looking at using the malwood clutch pin. will i still be able to use my cruise control without wiring it to the clutch.

thanx guys

Not sure if there's any failsafe but if it's not wired to your clutch your car will rev like a b**ch if you touch the clutch in cruise :p.

Yeah, YTMONT is correct. I havent hooked up the cruise switch, and it has caught me out a couple of times.
Dude, you are better off just buying the switch, you will already have the wiring there (well, I have it).
They have just used a piece of wire to close the circuit

And with the ECU, they are pretty much plug and play. Just make sure that you get the correct type 6cyl/V8, as well as the correct model EF/EL.

A cheaper alternative is to trick the auto ECU. Manual ones are hard to find.

either get hold of a clutch switch or get something like a brake switch and mount it so that it works the same way as factory - ie put foot on clutch, switch cuts out cruise.
and with your ecu, if you have a manual one ready to go in, there is no soldering required.
