Either that of try making another gasket for the ISC and make the holes for the ISC a little smaller, you may have to experiment with it but I did this and fixed my Rev hang its not even noticeable anymore.

Also helps to clean your ISC too while your at it, and spray a little INOX into it to free it up.

first thing i would try is un plug the isc and if it still idles above 500rpm just slow the idle down slowly untill its just at the point of stalling, then plug the isc back in..

otherwise the smaller holes in the isc gasket sometimes works aswell

It is more of an issue when you are giving advice. Your "mistake" can then turn into someone else's problem if they follow your advice without verifying it.

As for getting an EA box, I would be trying to get a later conversion and looking for one that has been rebuilt. Whilst there isn't much difference in straight out strength between non-world class and world class boxes the sychros and bearings in world class boxes tend to last longer under normal operation. I got lucky and got a full AU conversion with recently rebuilt box for $650 (although the one selling it didn't realise this).

E series tailshafts are the same length, what differs between manual and automatic tailshafts is the amount of spline inside the yolk.

Correct auto and manual e series tailshafts are 100% interchangable.just need to make sure LWB shafts stay with LWB cars, and sedan ones stay with sedans.

I am not saying that you cannot install an auto shaft in a manual and most people do, I am pointing out the difference between the two.

if the amount of splines were different they wouldn't interchange
