Hey guys im looking at doing a manual conversion..... first of all is the t5 out of a EA,ED,EB interchangable with the EF,EL......
and also does anyone know of a place in Perth that would do this cheaply????
If i cant get it done cheaply i will do it myself... but would rather someone else do it.....

also i assume the tailshaft is the same length in both autos and manuals.

i assume you have a EF . make sure you get a complete kit from a EF or you could run into problems. pedal boxes & computers ect. are different .
you must change the computer with a EF manual conversion or your fans will run constantly and engine will idle high.
we normally sell the EF manual conversions for $1250

as far as the thermo's are concened all you need to do is put in a 1650ohm resistor between the temp sensor wires on the auto wiring loom. You do not have to purchase a new computer.

i know a guy who is wrecking an EA with a 5speed manual. Pm me and ill give u his number, he used to be a member on fordmods but he doesnt have access to his computer anymore. (EFJASE or JASE)
i know he wants to get rid of stuff cheap so it would be worth a short to give him a buzz and see how much he wants for it.

yes it includes the box . EL conversions are different again as you need to change the engine wiring loom. they dont have a removable loom running to the gearbox.

i have a conversion coming in of tuesday its in a ef xr6 the price including computer will be $1500

be carfull of the ea conversions smaller clutch weaker box spend the $$$$ and get the right thing first time!

in perth, Walliston wreckers got my mate (Fast Futura on fordmods) an EF box and computer for $1300 or INSTALLED I think not including clutch. Definately worth doing there. I've driven the car and looked at the job and they know what they're doin. It was recommended to him by someone off fordmods.

By the way, shouldn't this get moved to the driveline forum? Its not really an engine question.
