Just a question on removing the auto.
How much oil can i expect it to drop when removing the pan? (just so i have a big enough bucket haha) To make it easier for myself due to space etc is it possible to split the box and remove it in parts? EG unbolt the box from the bell housing - remove the box and then unbolt the bell housing because it will give better access to the top bolts? I know this will result is more oil leaking from the torque convetor - but im prepared to deal with that if it means easier removal.

To follow this up...
Just got a brand new exedy clutch kit - and it doesn't fit. Exactly the same problem. Holes are out by the same amount. So I guess that is why there was 'wont fit' scribbled on the outside of the flywheel box - maybe a manufacturing defect?. It looks as if someone has tried to fit it before and found the same problem and sent it back. Must have just been restocked and given to me. There are bolt marks around the crank bolt holes on the flywheel. Now this is starting to f**k piss me off. Guess i will have to take the flywheel back and try get it swapped.

dude i dunno if u can split the auto but when i did mine we just let the box hang, and got a heap of long extensions with a swivel attachment on the end of it and undid the top bolts from the back. the ones at the side toward the top can be done from the engine bay i think with a stubby spanner.

Hey Gaz, I don't think you can pull the box seperate off the bell housing. Though I have never tried so not 100% on that. As fairmont599 said, you can try dropping the box down a bit more and then using a heap of extensions to get to the top 2. I managed after having 3 different sets of extensions to reach them. A uni joint might help as well if you have one. Those top bolts are a b**ch, put your anger into the getting the bastards off lol. I did that, slipped and cut my thumb some how haha.
With the amount of oil. I had a 10L bucket and it filled it up 3/4 IIRC. I'd try and find another Flywheel if at all possible. If all fails, a new one will be needed . Good luck with it . phong =P~

Ok, have returned the flywheel. There is one more in stock in WA - so going to try that one.
Moving onto more information. (hey this is becoming a quite comprehensive question thread ) Where did everyone find their Lubrizol 7906 additive? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Auto1 suggest i could try Nulon G70. http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?pr ... _Treatment Whats everyones thoughts?

Guess im on the lookout for another f**k flywheel. Damn that sucks . I think you should try all the wreckers again...or the other ones that you haven't tried. Good luck on the hunt dude. With the Lubrizol 7906 additive...I actually never put any in I'm not sure how much of a problem that will be to the box , but it is still running after a year. Sorry can't help you there. phong =P~
