{USERNAME} wrote: has my clutch finnally shat itself? Check your clutch pedal is 140 +- 3 mm from the floor carpet. Adjust it if needed.
another side not is that my clutch cable is wound as tight as it can go. You don't want to overtravel the pressure plate, as it will damage it. Longterm incorrect adjustment will help to damage the system. Other thing is the throwout bearing should be lightly touching the pressure plate with the above specs. If it's sitting against the pressure plate with a fair amount of tension, it can also cause the bearing to overheat and seize eventually.

Well your's will then be around the 170-175mm mark. Since you've said it's done up tight, this will be why. {USERNAME} wrote: how do i fix that? Adjust the nut on the outer cable in the engine bay near the firewall. Well your friction point would be pretty far up, maybe close to the full pedal up position. Your problem will be caused by this - whether or not it has already damaged anything is anyone's guess.
and could that be causing my probs? First thing's first, get the adjustment corrected.

its cooking your 'collapsed' throwout bearing.
you should get one with the clutch kit, PBR XR replacements are around $250 while your at it, make sure they replace the spigot bearing with a genuine one. ($25ish)

Wicksy did post some pictures a while ago of what I believe was damage done by a seized throwout bearing (didn't look pretty), Voxace did also post a pic a while ago too. Since the work was done by the same operation that isn't part of this forum anymore, I suspect the clutch pedal adjustment was done up too tight. So do make sure the adjustment is correct.

nup just clutch damage, unless ur grinding gears in the process. also you should get new bearings (thrust and spiggot) in the clutch kit

Remember to check that the pedal cluster bracket has started to break, or the firewall mounting point for the clucth cable hasn't started to crack out. but what your saying sounds like the clutch is had it. put in a PBR sports one, the pretty yellow ones, they work pretty well for the money.
