Can my bent EA manual pedal box be repaired in car without having to pull the sucker out ????? If so how would i go about it ???? As i know how much of a pain in the a** it is to pull out the dash to replace it.

Nope its a dash out job (not a major problem), but while its out you can strengthen it so it won't happen again.

hi
i think we have all had that problem..lol un fortunatly the dash has to come out or you can undo the dash and pull it back enough to get the pedal box out. its not as hard as it sounds!! |

don't know if the bent pedal box problem in the ea is the same as the au, but if it is , the reason is that the thrustrace binds on the input shaft cover that it slides on. a mate of mine has just done this on an au. and when he bought the parts from ford ,they sold him an undersize cover which enables the thrustrace to slide easier and bent him over too the tune of 150bucks. it would be cheaper to put it in a lathe and use a bit of 320 emery. if you don't fix this your pedal box will bend again.
