As the title suggests are Maxxis tyres ne good or should i stay away from them? They are $149 a tyre from bob janes so they seem a bit cheap since with tyres u usually get wat u pay for. Ne input would be good. Thank u

They're rubbish.. it's worth spending more on your tyres.

Why are they rubbish? Do they not have much grip or do they wear out easy or wat? They gonna be 235/45/17's and i have a stock falcon so i dont think i will have trouble getting traction. Maybe in the wet yes but that can be fun! and we in a drought so thats good too.

I've yet to have an issue on them, had them on the Falcon, and the Valiant.
O, and used to have them on my push bike when I was younger! |

Tryes are the ONLY thing holding you on the road....I would spend all I could for decent tyres, hell I even have Dunlop SP3000's on my trailer.

I have never had any cars with them, so I cant say, but I have never owned a Kia or Hyundai either, and think they are crap....lol
I would imagine they are ok in the dry, but would give no indication as to what is going on come some slight rain, and braking could be poor. I think dunlops are pretty cheap in that size these days, pity you arent in Brisbane, I have a few older sets of 17's here. |

I just got some maxxis 235/45ZR17 97W MAV 1. I think they are great, i had dunlop sp3000A on before and i reckon that these are just as good. I have not driven in the wet yet, but they hold the road, and they are also a very quite tyre. Wheels rated them no. 1 for wet weather and tyre noise in a tyre test a while ago. only cost $150 per tyre.

Wheels rating them gives me piece of mind. Not having a go or being rude (well i hope not) stroker but i will might take colin's advice since he has used them. Thanks 4 ya input any way i appreciate it. So might get 2 Mav 1's put on.

There actually not bad at all in the wet either, believe me, I live in Tassie! |

I've got a set of them on my XF, I find them to be excellent in all conditions. I drive pretty hard, and I am yet to find the point where they let go.

a good mate of mine owns the local ian diffen store here and hes been in the game for 35yrs.Hes rates them very highly ,he and his partner even have them on their own vechiles. He doesnt stock dunlop ,but will get them in if you want them,he reckons they are the worst tyre going and has nothing but comebacks with them.He reckons the asian tyres are top value for money, its all about opinioins i suppose.I use kumhos on my ba and also had hankooks on my au ,never had any dramas. They reckon the well known brands are very overpriced.
