Especially when parking or going around corners at traffic lights :)

Not legal and not insurable. this should put you off a bit.

Big fun but maybe a handfull in the wet.

You could never lend your car to anyone you didn'y trust could drive very well and knew what it means to have a mini spool.

only realy good for dragstrip anyway.

Why bother unless its a drag car with very occasional street driving.

not one for a daily driver.

Pros:
-mini-spools will never wear out
-traction off the line
-you know its always gonna do two wheels (ie. no tank slapping back into a pole)
-cheap ($120)

Cons:
-tires wear out
-illegal

the rumour about breaking axels can be true but if you only run stockies or 205s on the back you should be fine (my two mates have been) it when you run 245s all the time that it strains things. Also i'd definately recomend making sure that all your rear end bushes are in good condition otherwise it shudders pretty bad during slow corners.

if you can afford tires then i'd definately say that a mini-spool is better than a aussie LSD coz our LSDs are crap and wear out real quick

im seriously thinkin bout goin a mini spool, cause they will almost never break, much stronger than an LSD, it won't whine, it doesnt have heaps of s**t in it that can break (clutches and so forth in a limo) and its cheaper than getting the LSD reconditioned. Dont know yet though

...whining isn't caused by the centre, but the crown/pinion arrangement. If someone wants a minispool, Ive got my old one. Gimme a pm.

I know ZOOM fitted an air locker designed for 4wd's to an XR6T with good success.
How that helps you, I don't know.

ARB can fit 'em to a 9". Which doesn't really help us.
But interesting anyway... :P
