In my EL GLi manual when I apply power, most noticable on starting off from stop or putting boot in in 2nd gear. I get some sort of creaking/cracking noise from the rear. Not too loud but can hear from the drivers seat with the stereo off.

Sort of a Crack, Crack, Crack just as your letting the clutch out. Definately from the rear. Seams to do it less after the car is warm. I get no other wineing or clunking noises from the rear.

-Worn suspension bushes? or Diff?
