Well guys with all the hints you gave me I got the box out. Now for the next set of ideas from you legends out there.
I need to flush the gearbox I am putting in. The oil that came out of the converter was black as. Does the flush go through the convertor as well as the box?
How much fluid will I need to put in a dry box..that is one that I have drained of fluid.
How long or how far do I drive it with the flush in and will I need to drain it again in a week or so to get all the sh**t out of it ?
Hope you guys dont mind helpin out the dummy in the group again.
You have been terrific for me so far and have my immense gratitude for all your answers

Hi there, firstly, did you drain the box before you took it out? have you had the Torque converter checked? and, as far as flushing, I was told by our Auto builder at work that it is NOT a good idea to do so as it may adversely affect the clutch plates inside the Transmission.

Autos take approx 10 litres if empty and 4 litres for a refill.

I know it sounds like a waste of time but, I would have the Torque converter checked as bad one can cause oil to end up black. If the Converter is ok, an add of new TQ95 should get everything going ok and, don't forget to change the Filter inside of the box.

As far as I'm aware, unless you get a tranny place to flush the whole 10L, to do it yourself will take a while. It just involves dumping the pan and filling up with fresh fluid after driving for a while and keep doing that till it's clearish red. Once it is, replace the filter then you're done.
